Samia Al Homsi Dagher, professional artist and software engineer based in Lebanon.
My art journey started when I was five when I did a simple sketch of my grandpa using a pencil, the result turned out quite good for a five years old girl.
The encouragement of my parents made me focus on drawing along with my scientific studies as they provided the necessary tools and ambiance for me to do the thing I love the most, so I kept on practicing.
I majored in Computer science and got my diploma from the Lebanese University Faculty of Science, two years later I got my Masters degree in Software engineering.
I also majored in Fine arts and got my diploma from the Lebanese University Institute of Fine arts.
Majoring in art made explore the beauty of all mediums so I had the chance to work with charcoal, pencils, acrylic, oil, pastel ..etc.
Although ballpoint pen wasn't among the mediums we experienced in college, yet drawing with a pen got me hooked when I first saw it on Youtube, that's when I decided to master it.
Couple of years ago I started focusing on only pen and so I practiced by sketching portraits and doodles, some of them are attached below.
Participating in exhibitions wasn't my passion and that is because I wasn't quite ready to give out any of my original pieces, Instead I created my accounts on social media that allows me to show my art pieces and my work in progress without having to give any of them away.
Two years now I started my Instagram account and along the way I managed to practice almost every day to keep up with the audience and those who awaits my artworks.
Portraits and figures weren't only my passion as I also practiced on drawing Disney characters because I felt that these illustrations may reach their way faster to the heart of a bigger audience that includes all ages.
What was even more challenging for me was to create original art pieces that were only from my imagination.
I also tried to mix in some of other illustrations between well known characters and doodles from my own imagination.

Art for me is not only a hobby or a profession, it's my passion.
As long as I can still carry a pen, drawing is the thing I love to do the most.
